I have a dragon goby (sleeper goby) in my tank, and he just loves digging deep holes in my sand and spitting it all over the corners of the tank.

I have no problem with his normal sand sifting routine. But the digging is becoming a problem. He has tumbled rockwork and the water has been a sand storm ever since he was added.

Is he going to ever be satistified with his den and eventually stop this spitting behavior?

The sleeper gobies usually aren't building a den for themselves - they are looking for food. They sift the sand looking for invertebrates, worms, etc. Many starve in a captive tank because they are difficult to provide w/ sufficient live food. I lost 2 yellowheaded sleeper gobies because of this. If you have a refugium, try to keep it stocked with pods.

He is definitely building a den. There is a clear difference between when is he is working on his den, and sifting looking for food.

He eats everything he comes in contact with, including flakes, pellets and frozen. I don't think that will be a problem.

He made himself a little cave, and has pretty much stopped rearranging everything for the time being. Water has cleared. Hopefully that's the end of that for awhile.
