Sand vs Gravel

What do you prefer for your mbuna tanks? If you prefer sand, what color do you use?

i would go for natural coloured sand any day...either kiddies play pit sand or silver sand is what i use, do not use builders sand.

I was thinking like a really really bright white SWish color sand but i think that might wash out my fishys colors.

...had a suggestion for dark and silver sand. Sounds pretty good.
