Well i am taking out my crushed coral and putting in sand. I see a few people talking about sand from Menards or a Hardware store??But my LPS sells live sand out of the ocean?? Is that better you use???

That's generally more money than you need to spend. Get enough from Menards or wherever to give yourself the 3-4" sand bed, then buy a couple of pounds of the LS to seed the sand. If you have live rock, I don't even know if you have to seed with the live sand.

What do you mean SEED the sand???
What kind of sand do I use from menards???
Do I mix the Menards sand and LS together or do i put it in in layers??

I used the silica all purpose mix from Menards. It's white, finer than sugar, and was like $4.50 for 100lbs. Otherwise, if you can find the all-mighty yet elusive "Southdown" sand from Home Depot, that's what seems to be prefered, but I think you have a better chance of convincing Bush to pass an environment friendly act then finding it. Basically, buy enough for 4" in your tank, then buy a few pounds of the live stuff, and kind've put it in various areas around your tank, as the top layer. This should get things rolling.
