Here's the deal... I have two overstocked tanks. My 75 gallon tank has 9 Comets. I adopted 6 of them as a charity project so they wouldn't get flushed. I didn't know what I was getting myself into since I never had fish before. I found out the hard way that one of them is a female, that is why there is now 9. It has been about 6 or 7 years and I have obviously become an aquaria addict. The original 10 gallon tank that I kept them in when they were smaller is now used for my new project. What I wanted was 1 Betta Imbellis, 3 Sparkling Gouramis, and 3 Kerri Tetras. I ended up with 4 Betta Imbellis (that was the only way I could get them on Aquabid), 3 German Ram Cichlids (Liveaquaria sent me the wrong fish), and 4 Kerri Tetras. I know both tanks are severely overstocked. But I was able to talk my mom into helping me out. She will allow me to buy a tank big enough to house the Comets without being overstocked and keep both tanks at her house. That means the tank would have to be about 180 gallons. Then, I could use the 75 gallon tank for my tropical fish and use the 10 gallon as a hospital tank. Yea! I can keep those handsome Cichlids!!
I just need to find a proper setup, inexpensive, for my Comets! I need help. Does anybody have any advice? I have little time to get this figured out before the fish get too big for that 10 gallon.
