i am saving up money for either a 29 gallon or 55 gallon depending on how much room my mom will give me for them. but i was wondering what fish could go in them..... i have a couple fish i like but could an oscar or two go in a 55gallon or do i need to get smaller fish?

I've seen oscars in 55g tanks...and it's not a pretty sight. Oscars tend to be more active and healthy in tanks such as 90g standards or larger.

If you are interested in cichlids for a 55g tank, take a look around for something that maxes out at around 8-9". There are a lot of options out there that fit this criteria; far too many to try and list. I hope that at least gets you started.

Anytime. Some nice cichlids for a 55g tank could include firemouths, convicts, jewel cichlids, keyhole cichlids, rams, or kribensis. See if any of them suit your fancy.
