Somehow I sucked my beta up in the vaccum while I was cleaning his tank, ya, I know, I feel bad enough already. As you can see, I cleaned the scales off on the top of his head. I didn't see any blood, but maybe you wouldn't in the water. I put a tablespoon of salt in his 5 gallon tank to help prevent infection. Any suggestions as to what other preventative measures I should take? Or what I should watch out for in the next few days?IMGP0319.JPG

I could be wrong but I would think the salt would sting him?

I would add some Melafix- seems to work fast and isn't loaded with a lot of chemicals.

ooo... just like putting salt on your cut when it's open... :D

heard that it's supposed to disinfect or something... "which is why it stings".

sounds like something a mother says to children so they don't know the REAL thing

Are you sure it won't hurt the bio?

Thank you so much. That was very helpful!

I'd recommend Melafix in his tank - dose at 1/2 strength (1/2 recommended dose on bottle) for a full week. Be sure his water is extra clean!
