Are these fish peacefull? can they go in a planted community tank? and what size do they get? please let me know asap

First off, Badis are not a cichlid.

They can be somewhat territorial but certainly nothing along the lines of a cichlid. Considering they only grow to 2" or so, I'd have no problem placing one in a planted community tank. You might lose a small tetra or two but then I'd rather have the badis anyway.

They're Badidae. All by themselves. They are close cousins of the ancestor of all the labyrinth fishes. Probably their ancestors were related to cichlid ancestors somewhere before the close of the Jurassic. These are Laurasian fishes; cichlids got started in Gondwana.

This is the fish I want. (well, I want Altum Angels, but wantn' ain't gittn!) Wantn' ain't gittn' me far with finding these beauties either. Anyone in the NYC area want to split the costs of a shipment?
