Nice to know why they ract the way they do. I was always curious about how fear was communicated. hope they find the exact reason.

Next time you see a colony of ants outside, pick one up away from the others, smash him and drop him in the middle of the unsuspecting ones. They are nice and calm until one Finds the dead one and they enter freak out mode.
Quite entertaining and I'm sure this science goes for all creatures to some extent.
