I've stocked my 10gal with 6 danios: 2 zebra, 2 blue long fin, 1 red fin, 1 (looks neon-like, i don't remember.)

two questions: will they all school being they are different types of danios?

2nd - stocking: I really like them, they are small by very active. I was wondering what else you all would recommend? I was thinking maybe a betta, other than that I don't really have any ideas.

You've got a very small mixed-bag group of danios in a small tank. It's highly unlikely that you'll see anything resembling schooling. You really need a lot of the same kind of fish in a large space to see that. I've got 10 danios of the same species in a 55g tank and they don't school. I used to have a larger tank w/ 20 red-eye tetras in it, no schooling unless something really scared them, and even then they'd only group for a minute. Schooling is a way for large groups of fish in large spaces to find food and avoid predation. In most home aquarium environments food is plentiful, space is not, and predation is unknown.

Four smaller (like panda or peppered) corydoras would be a n OK addition to your tank if you're looking for more fish.

as for schooling its a possibility i have a ten gal with mixed tetras and the black skirts and phantoms school together and the black neon and x-ray school together so i think it could work.
other fish
corys
otto cats
female betta (not male he'll eat or kill everything)
a dwarf gourami (only one your tank is really full)
guppys
hatchet fish (marbles are nice)
thats what i would suggest dont get to many more fish cuz your tank is pretty much maxed out but the corys and ottos you could get three of because the corys will stay on the bottom and the ottos will stay out of the way. hatchets you could get probly two since they stay at the top. but anything else i would only get one of
