i think i made a mistake in ordering a scooter blennie.
doh!!! i ordered and then read about them.
i ordered a red scooter blennie and then i read that they cant survive in tropical systems. is this true? now what should i do?
i am going to contact ffexpress and see if its too late to cancel.

I didn't know that. You may want to steer clear of them anyway because they're dragonets. Feeding can be a challenge and they will quickly deplete your tank of pods.

There are several species sold as reef-appropriate that are actually temperate species. These fish don't fair well in tropical temperatures over the long run. I didn't think scooters were amoung these fish. Where did you read that? If you have a link, I'd be interested in reading it.

Don't feel too badly.. do try to cancel the order for the blenny tho!

I did the same thing with a Catalina Goby, which are definitely a cold water fish :( Luckily he's still alive and eating like a pig! I did learn a valuable lesson. Always research before you buy.. and DON'T listen to the employees (or sometimes even the owners!) of fish stores.

Scooters are tropical fish - they don't need cool water. However, they do have dietary challenges, like mandarins, and shouldn't be kept in new systems.

Catalina gobies ARE coldwater fish, and shouldn't be kept in temps above 70-72 tops.

it was to late to cancel the order.
i just received my tonga maron starfish and my scooter.
both were acclimated and are in the tank.

the blennie is nowhere in site.
the starfish is attached to a large piece of rock.
i will post how they do.
