I never had luck getting Molted Sculpins to survive in an aquarium for very long. I could never get the water cold enough. I might have to invest in a chiller if I ever try it again.

yeah that is an issue. I'm still mulling over my options. I've considered upgrading one of the 20L to a 29 and setting up a FOWLR tank for a Fu Manchu lionfish, but that's a whole different set of problems :)

dont get them from streams!! ...

get them form a lake, mid summer go to a boat launch and look around in the rocks for the small 1 inch fry. They are easily caught with an aquarium net..just move slow like catching crayfish....this is how i got mine and she has made it in an unheated tank on the floor of a heated room for 4 years now.

....when we got her the water she was in was ankle deep and bathwater warm.

These fish are found EVERYWHERE not just in cold water streams ..if you get them from a stream you will have a hard time getting them to survive.

here is my thread.
