Thanks Roan! Consider it bookmarked! I use many Seachem products for fresh and salt water. I've been very pleased with their performance...they consistantly put out quality stuff because they do their research and don't push "snake oil"!

no, trace elements are not necessary if you do frequent water changes, in which case new source water is added which will contain trace elements. trace elements are another of those chemical "quick fixes" that companies want to sell you as a replacement for regular tank maintenance. they go along with those liquids that claim to kill algae, clear up cloudy water, and remove ammonia or nitrite.

i replace about 50% of my tanks every week, and vacuum gravel.

FWIW Trace is apparently just watered down Flourish.
