My loss, your gain!

I got a SeaClear 90 gallon acrylic recently, used, then later found out that my landlady isn't really thrilled with the idea of 90 gallon aquariums in her building.

It has to find a new home! Pronto! LOL

It's 4 feet long, 2 feet tall, and 18 inches wide. The condition is pretty good but not perfect, and the price is adjusted down to move it quickly, and to give whoever buys it a good deal.

When I got it, it was scratched - I polished it with Novus 3, then 2, then 1, and the viewing area is now pristine and clear. There are still some scratches on the sides, but they are not too obnoxious.

There were two bottom holes drilled in the floor of the corner overflow box. Plugged these with a square of acrylic and marine epoxy.

The right back corner was weak. It held water, but it was looking dicey with the acrylic on the corner pretty chewed up and crazed. Somebody, before I got the tank, must have dropped it or bashed that corner against something.

I patched this with a triangle of acrylic inside the tank, and two outside flats of acrylic. Pics are attached. This was massive overkill on the patch, but I was hoping a good patch would let me keep the tank in the apartment.

It has been holding water for a month now. Two guppies I was keeping in the tank have been fine, the epoxy is non-toxic.

Don't let that epoxy turn you off! If you hate the look of the patch (and it is butt ugly, LOL), it can be popped out with a blade, the area sanded down, and re-patched with new acrylic and some clear Weld-On. If you're handy working with acrylic and Weld-On, re-doing the patch should be pretty doable for minimal cost.

These SeaClear aquariums sell for $659.99 new!!!

I'm in West Los Angeles, pick-up is probably best, but if anyone really wants me to ship it, I guess that I can box it and ship it.

EDIT: I took the pics just a few minutes ago, before posting. The tank holds water wonderfully. I guess some folks won't like the patch, but if re-doing with Weld-On isn't an option . . . it can be concealed by substrate and plants, and by putting wood trim around the base of the tank.

If you're curious, make me an offer! :) It just needs to go. I'll give a good price to the first person ready to come pick it up!

Someone asked about the corner patch, noticing - accurately - that it is complete overkill and way stronger than it needs to be. Generally, like the DIY posts here and at MonsterFishKeepers have shown, you reinforce the corners with just a little wedge, not a gigantic inner piece with outer cross braces.

Can't fault that observation, but this patch, if nothing else, really is water-tight and probably stronger than the original joins on the tank.

My plan, until recently, was to cycle the tank with water in it, until I got the stand built. Then I was planning to drain it, clean up the edges on the patch, and paint it to match the background. Painted black, with substrate, plants, and wood trim around the bottom of the tank, I think it would be very hard to even see the patch.

So I guess you're getting the tank at the functional stage, before it has been made cosmetically more attractive. And don't be afraid of taking my patch off and re-doing it to your liking. It won't hurt the tank, and if you want a clear, small patch, all you need is some Weld-On #4 or #16 and a small piece of 1/4" acrylic from a craft store.

You could also put in another black corner overflow tower, to match the one on the left side, and that would completely conceal that corner, too.

For the price - $200 or best offer - and a little elbow grease, you'll get a solid tank that would cost over $650 to get brand new.

Let's do this! Help me find this tank a new home, I'll give you a great price to come pick it up.
