Ive been doing some searching here in the forum and on google and so forth about modding the seaclone skimmer. I get the basic idea of what to do, I was wondering if anyone had any pics of the mods (how to) or links to them.
Im getting alot of micro bubbles in the tank, and I am constantly having to adjust it so I get it to pull any foam up and keep bubbles in the chamber.
Im only getting about 1/4 cup full over a 5 day span.
The micro bubbles are the worst part of it.
It just seems to me that I should be getting alot more out of it. So before I buy a new one I saw online of the mods that can be made to help it out.
I have the 150 and the majority of the micro bubbles are coming from the intake. This is solved by wrapping cotton batting around the intake. The out put will also cause bubbles if the flow rate is too high (not enough bubbles). On mine I am not running the stock valve. I got a different one from the LFS, and it always stays adjusted where I want it. I haven't used the stock valve (got my skimmer used with out the valve...) but have read of people complaining about it.
Try dropping a limewood airstone. I attach both intake of the airpump to one airstone and got a chamber full of micro bubbles. I have being pulling a cup full every 48hrs. You could even use a air diffuser. If the skimate is wet, try reducing the water flow using the airflow adjuster.
Hope this helps. Worked wonder for me.
