Does anyone have any experience with a SeaClone Protein Skimmer SCPS 100 (up to 100 gallons)???

I'm thinking of using one on a 30 gallon marine tank. I know its a little bit of an overkill, but I figure its worth it in the long run.

Yeah, i have one of them...It will work fine in a 30, i used mine on a 46Gal and it was just great...

Dont get me wrong, its not the best skimmer, but, it does its job well ....

is the skimmer loud?

Also, should I use Fiji Pink Sand (agronite) or live sand? which is better? If I went with the normal sand, how long til it becomes live sand? thanks!

I have the 150g model, wich I used on a 29 at first then now on a 45... ... I'll agree with atnixon, it gets the job done, but even with my skimmer on my sized tanks I wouldn't go with a high bio-load... IMO you'd be better off going with a coralife super skimmer, wich doesn't cost much more (I think I saw a $20 difference at the most) and is a better skimmer.

Okay, cool. The corallife super skimmer looks like its equipped with a pump and all. I would def pay $20 more for a better skimmer. I just don't want any hidden costs on pumps/filter pads.
