I have a black and white perc and a regular percula together and they get along great

I'd personally not risk it except perhaps in a very large tank.

For some it might work out, for others not, it does help though to pick clowns of a less agressive behavior.

black and white percs and reg percs seem to pair up pretty nicely, Although it might not happend all the time trios with clowns are not uncommon.
