Hello there,

I'm thinking about adding some new plants to my aquarium. I currenly have 2 java ferns and 1 anubius (species unknown). All plants elastic banded to rock or driftwood.
I use Flourish Excel about 3 times / week and Flourish a couple times per week.
Plants are growing reasonable quickly, with only occasional trimming of dead leaves on the java ferns. Algae has decreased to visually appealing levels.

Could someone please list easy to care for plants as hardy as java fern or anubias species. I've tried java moss but i'm not keen on the mess it makes to my powerfilters. I'd prefer to stay with broad leafed plants if possible, as opposed to Canadian/American waterweed etc fine plants. If there are mini amazon sword plants that exist that might be good :)

Tank size = 10 gallons.

Thanks,
Marc

You don't mention your lighting situation, but you could try some easier stem plants such as Anarcharis (Egeria densa) or Hygrophilia polysperma , as they are fairly tolerant of lower light conditions, but they won't grow as quickly.
