Hi everyone I'm sort of new to the hobby and heard this was a great site for asking help. Now, I wanted to know if serpae tetras are compatible with bleeding hearts, angels, corydoras and neon dwarf rainbows? My boyfriend says that he has had some bad experiences with them because of nipping on other fish, but I consider them to be some beautiful fish.I would appreciate your help. Thanks!

:welcome: to AC!

While beautiful, I would not add Serpaes to a tank with Angels. They can in fact be nippy.

I'd say they'd be ok with all those except the angels. Get a nice size school of 6 or more. Usually the nipping is kept between themselves.

I have neon tetras with my serpea tetras. No fin nipping.

When there was fin nipping, it was among the serpea. I was down to 3, I added 3 more, and this ended the nipping among the serpeas. They serpeas never fin nipped the neons.

Hi :welcome: to AC. As the others said serpaes could be nippy sometimes. It's best to keep them in groups of 5 or more. Avoid any static fish or long finned fish in your tank if you decide to get some one day. Good luck!
