Yes, you heard right, I'm the guy that HAD the 5 gallon, (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84102) well, I got fed up with it, so I talked my girl into letting us get a 29 gallon glass kit. This time I'm gonna take it SLOWLY!

Current stock:

1 Female Betta thats already been through hell and SHOULDn't be alive
1 Blue Gourami
1 African Dwarf Frog

So, in about 2 weeks if everything is going right with the water we'll be adding either a Red Fire Gourami or a Neon Dwarf Gourami...I can't wait!

Thanks guys, this thing looks so nice in the room I can't believe its mine, I'm so excited! :D

Oh and here are some pics for you to enjoy, right now its a little bare as we're still deciding on how exactly we want to set everything up, suggestions are welcome!

Looks great! You might want to try a tape-on background to hide the cords if the tank will be up against a wall. I have a dark-blue one against my yellow walls and it looks great. Really the solid or graded blue or black backgrounds are the best... I don't suggest the ones with a printed "scene".

Bravo for upgrading! ( now I don't have to yell at you :p: )

Now for the bad news....keeping multiple gourami's in a tank your size does pose some risks. Mixing dwarfs and regulars IMO increases that risk.

If you want to have more than one gourami you need plants! Tall plants and floating plants to break up the line of sight and minimize any potential aggression. Of course this may/may not mean lighting upgrades.....

Why not leave well enough alone and go for a small midlevel fish and a few corys?
 
You know this is only the beginning right? Pretty soon MTS (multi-tank syndrom) is gonna get the best of you. lol Before you know it you'll be moving furniture to make room for yet another tank. :p: Happens to the best of us!
 
Ahh lucky you!! I really want to upgrade my 10g to a 29 g. I have a cabinet for a 20g - but I think the foot prints of some of the 29s would fit on the cabinet for the 20.

Hubby already thinks I am cazy for the amt of time and effort I am spending on a couple of fish!!

But I really like the challenge and I know a 29 is easier to maintian than the 10 (or my 5 g qt!!)

Haha. I talk fish with my husband who's like 'oh yeah?' 'i'm sorry' 'mmhmm' 'that's too bad'. I swear he's got a repertoire of noncommittal phrases for my fish talk. And of course I went from one 40g to 40g,75g,20g,10g,5g... I was only looking for info for my sick new fish and ended up on this website whereby my tank gave birth to 4 more tanks.. Good luck if you're going to hang around here !
 
Welcome to the club! We had a 30g, just the tank, sitting there forever with all kinds of junk piled in it. Then we found a 10g at a garage sale with everything you needed to start it up so we got that up and going and got the bug to get the 30g up and going. THEN we found a tank by a dumpster but it needs some work. Whew! I'm in no hurry getting that one going though, we're having enough problems with the 2 we've got!
 
I know the fever... I use to have 2 tanks (55, 20). Had to get rid of them for a few years and now I've moved back to wear I can set up them up. With in the last three months I've set up a 75, 55, 20, 20, 10 and a betta. Actually just got my newest 20 today. Went in to get some feeders came out with $200 worth of crap and a new 20GL. Every Sat I'm cleaning one of them :)
