Should I be worried?

Well, after thinking about it, I took the pleco with me to the store today. I traded it for a clown pleco, which is better suited, sizewise, to my tank anyway.

I am sad about it but hopefully the newcomer will fit in better. It is in its bag from the store still -- we just got back. :o

I also got a large piece of driftwood with a couple plants attached. It looks really cool and hopefully the pleco will like it too :)

is the drfitwood artificial? Your best bet would be to grab a small piece of real driftwood, soak it well to make sure it does not shoot back up to the top of the tank when you put it in. The pl*co should take a liking to it and stay off the frogs.

You did make it sound like the pl*co really just does not care, and unless it is actively chasing the frogs I do not think you would have anything to worry about.
 
My clown plec has left a years worth of scars so far on my driftwood. In ten years I might have to get a new piece for him :D

They are great little fish but don't expect to see much of him. I only see mine when he is wrestling with some veg that I strategically place in his little hideout.
 
It's real driftwood. I was at the store, trying to choose a piece, and contemplating the work it was going to be boiling it and soaking it and all, when I spied a nice one in one of their tanks. It was about 15" long and had some interesting looking curves to it. Two types of anubias were attached to it with fishing line.

I asked the guy helping me how much it was, thinking that it might cost a lot looking as good as it did. He said that he wasn't sure it was even for sale, but that he'd ask for me. When he returned, he said that they wanted to get rid of it and that I could have it for $6.99. Well I know a deal when I see one so I of course bought it :D

The clown pleco has been in the tank a couple of hours, but he just found the driftwood now as I was typing this and has attached himself to the top of it :) And maybe it's just that it came from a tank where there wasn't a lot of cover, but the pleco hasn't been hiding the entire time it's been in the tank. So I have been able to watch it quite closely!

Oh, and no, my other pleco never chased the frogs or anything like that, but I'd rather not have to deal with this in the future if it happened to get worse! I hope this new one decides that frogs are friends, not food :)
