Should it be smelling like this?

My tap water conditioner is starting to smell!!!!
Its not exactly plesent as it smells like rotten eggs!
Is this normal?

Its Fresh Start by Interpet and its blue if that helps!!

That doesn't sound like anything I'd be putting in my tank. Tap water conditioner is cheap enough-- throw out the old stuff and buy a bottle of a different brand.

It is not uncommon for the chemicals used to neutralize chlorine and cloratimines to have the smell you describe. The odor should vanish when you add it to the water and recap the bottle. If, on the other hand, it is your untreated water that smells then you have a problem.

Thankfully, none of my water conditioner has ever developed an odor resembling rotten eggs. Yuck.

I use AmQuel and I think it smells awful. Not like rotten eggs, but like burnt charcoal. I just noticed the other day.

Ok thanks. Yeah the smell is only there in the bottle!!!! Its fine when it goes in the tank!

I use seachem prime and it really smells bad. No effect to the water in terms of odour. I just put in 2 cap fulls while doing a water change and we're good to go.

Hi All!!

With my tap water I use tetra aqua Aquasafe, It smells really weird, but It's not exactly a disgusting smell if you know what I mean???

It also adds a blue tint to the tap water, but once It goes in the tank It's fine, I have been using this for about 3 months (Ever since I bought the tank) and I have only had two deaths (Danios, This was due to no expeirience and being a newbie, which I suppose I still am )
