Wow, the old AFX stuff! I had a Javelin that was so fast it would go airborne if you didn't slow down on the overpass!
another lost art. oh, the memories. my whole room was a track just about. ceiling and all. then there was the swap meets. sadly all i have is memories now. but that's good enough for now. my son already destroyed his first track. ::sniffle:: i'm so proud. 
Here is a shot of my Hotwheels set from the 90's. These are wicked fast compared to the old school Aroura set I have from the 60's.

I have cases of those cars that were given to my mother for me when I was young. Someone she worked with used to work for Aurora and had them. I have at least a case of each of the camaros, in 2 colors, pink nomads, the AMC's, the open top Broncos, the green # 11's(forgot the make), Corvette roadsters, and a bunch of others I can't remember. She also gave me a boatload of track, some of which I never used. It had pins to hold it together, and I didn't have them. My friends and I would set up big tracks and have raceoffs and such. Unfortunately, some of the stuff has markings on it because we didn't know any better then! I used to take this stuff apart and change parts all the time. We used to have a blast!
