renton, wa
I like the idea of moss walls a lot and have tried in a very small scale, I'm thinking about trying again but a larger one. Was hoping i could see some pics of current moss walls....hopefully different types of moss too. Seems to me that Xmas moss would look the best, does anyone have one of Java or williw moss?
Would love to see any moss wall you got goin

Wall was constructed using the plastic crafting grids. Fishing line was used to secure the Sub to the wall.

I was looking into moss walls recently for the 40b i recently got. I was going to use some
flame or christmas moss I have but the subwassertang looks very nice, different texture.

Ahh ok, when i made the small moss wall i sandwiched moss between 2 pieces of plastic grid, you just tied the sub to the grid and hung/suctioned it on the tank wall?

Actually, I went one step further than just an ordinary wall. I made it into a ledge so I can plant over the Sub.

Here's a link to the DIY thread showing how I made it:

Dang, that would be a lot of moss to make a 50g moss tank ><
Im lookin to turn a good portion of the back wall mossy

Interesting James, i hadnt thought of using the plastic mesh to create any sort of ledge or container. I really like how yours turned out and i may have to try something like that myself

You can also use the plastic mess to retain a shape and use a net over it creating a bag like. At the dollar store in the bath section they sell a soap loof (spelling) which is nothing more than about 20feet of bunch tube netting. If you tie one end off put in your mesh (optional) stuff with moss and tie off the open end your set.

The over grown brick to the left the plastic mesh was rigid enough that I could add suction cups to hold it place through the netting. I don't have good shot of it.
