It looks like my betta Akito went after my veil angel Sora and I just now discovered it. The angel's dorsal fin is all torn to shreds and Akito has a few nips out of his. This is strange because Akito hasn't even flared at him ONCE and Sora's been in there for several days now. Something must've ticked him off.

What is the best course of action?

I do have a QT tank I can move one of them to, so I may slip Akito into that one which really upsets me because he's one of my favorite fish. Then again, so is Sora. Then I may just melafix both tanks. Or should I move Sora? Angels are a LOT more delicate, so I'd almost rather not stress him out even more by moving him.

I would have advised against putting an angel in with a betta or a gourami...or a betta with a gourami....etc. These are all semi-aggressive fish and their behavior towards each other would be largely unpredictable.

I'd say move the betta, add the melafix, and let them regain their composure. Then find a new tank for someone.

I knew about the bettas and gourami, but Akito hadn't messed with anyone before. I'll be setting him up in a 10G with white clouds or sommat soon. I've just gotta fix up my 10G this afternoon. He's in a 1 gallon tank right now with the ambient temperature around 72, but he'll only be in that a few hours.
