I was just curious what kind of shrimp and snail (that don't multiply) can you add to a community tank? Also can they be in the tank together? Oh and how about an albino dwarf frog? Do these all get along?

Snails will always breed prolificly...(FYI - Loaches love snails! ;))

As for shrimps, you can always get amano shrimps that require brackish water for fry development, and thus eliminate reproductive cycle...but why?

As for frogs, I don't know; I just know you must be very careful that you are indeed being sold a true dwarf and not an african clawed frog!

Brig snails (apple, mystery) and not hemaproditic so you could have one of those, I personally adore them. I agree about the shrimp post, although I don't mind my cherries multiplying because they are so fun and add very little to the bioload. As for the frogs, the albinos most commonly sold are African Clawed Frogs (acf's) and get pretty large. They are also very aggressive eaters and will eat small fish. Adf's (african dwarf frogs) stay tiny and are very timid eaters. I also really enjoy them.

I see thanks for the info.

Nerite snails will not reproduce in fresh water. They require brackish water for the eggs to hatch. I can see all over my tanks where the eggs are but they never hatch. I started with twenty almost seven months ago and still have twenty.

I'd recommend the Mystery Snail as well.

Olive Nerites (I'd have to assume that's the one trevor mentioned) have been known to reproduce in pure freshwater, though I don't know the science behind it. Seems like a very uncommon occurrence though.

I have never seen this in my tank. I think I am going to try and collect some eggs and put them in some brackish water to see if they will hatch.

I would just like to say: African clawed frogs (not dwarf!) are pretty neat, you just don't want to accidentally mix one in with a community geared towards the dwarf. A friend of mine adopted a female ACF named Molly, and she's amazing.
