i bought three shripm about a week ago foe my betta duplex and yesterday i notice there no shrimp at all and there was none last night or this morning. is it posible that the escaped, became lunch, or are hiding really good? cuz i dont know it crazy.

ghost shrimp are good hiders but that may not be the answer, or even the kind of shrimp you have

you checked underocks or in your plants? they hide and blend in well thanks to their clearish bodys.

Sometimes even when I lift up rocks and stuff I can't find my inch and a half long shrimp, but I know they're alive and well. Yours might just be hiding well. Shrimp are good at that.

I have amanos - 7 of them and I only ever see a maximum of 3 at any one time!
awesome hiders!

I had one die on me and I agree with the_dougie in the fact they really pale when dead - mine was practically translucent!

i have two ghost, and one algea eating. still havent seen them but who knows they could be hiding i have tons of places for them to hide ill check tomarow when i change my water.

Ghost shrimp are great leapers if being pursued. I put two in my betta tank once and one leaped out while trying to escape the betta and the other was eaten. Betta's seem to appreciate a fresh mean now and then. Does your tank have a cover on it. Dried out ghost shrimp are almost impossible to find in the carpet (mine was on the kitchen counter but was still hard to spot).

I will agree though that they are also great hiders. One hid in my puffers tank fo 3 weeks after I assumed it had been eaten, I was cleaning the tank and he swam out from under a rock when I moved it to clean.

My puffer tank is covered and I always have to knock them off of the glass cover when they get stuck to it leaping for their lives.

For many fish, their chitin proves inconsequential.
