I know that you can put one Neocaridina and one Caridina together without an issue with cross-breeding, but have read that Malaya and Malawa shrimp will not bread with either.

Is this the case? Could I house both along with Neocaridina and one Caridina?

Both Malaya and Malawa are Caridina species -but- according to The Shrimp Tank

The Malaya Shrimp is another interesting species. It is one of the few species in the hobby that have larval young and does not require saltwater to complete its lifecycle. The other great thing about this species is that it does not cross with any shrimp I am aware of currenty in the hobby.

Thanks! I saw that too. But PlanetInverts.com has this chart up:

Which shows the Malaya not being compatible with everything else. So there is some debate about it.
