I noticed the rubber band holding pantyhose over my filter is looking torn up. Right now one of my yellow shrimp is picking at it. Could they be eating it or do rubber bands decompose in water?
They decompose in water. I replace mine every couple of months.
Shrimp will help the process along but not exponentially where I'd blame them for the failure. Now prawn... that's another story. They destroy things for the sake of being bored. haha
The red claws I got from a vendor on aquabid. Look for a seller named ark. He did great with shipping.
The rosenbergiis were sent by a member here. She purchased them from Aquaculture of Texas and sent them USPS Express. The owner of the facility is very adamant about only using UPS or FedEx overnight. Which means.. the cost of shipping is over $100. :/
The amazon prawn I have since given to someone else. They were originally obtained from a tropical fish wholesaler out of NJ. They had them listed as "giant blue prawn" which we all know is false but that seems like the common trade name for almost all prawn in the hobby.
I'm still looking for other species, so if you come across any please give me a holler.
