I've had a 3 gallon picotope tank for awhile. I bought it as a betta fish/freshwater fish tank, but I decided to change it out. I got a new filter, and I gave it a good cleaning. I am now almost through with the cycling process.

My question is, I'm thinking about putting a shrimp in there. I'm going to put some corals in there(sorry, not sure what kind of corals yet). But, I would like to get a shrimp as well. I'm thinking between a coral banded shrimp or fire shrimp. I also thought on a Sexy Anemone Shrimp, but one website I found said that they can't be in tanks with corals?

Please help me out on which kind I should get, or if you think I should get any at all(if the tank is too small for all of them). Any other suggestions on a kind of shrimp I can use?

Sorry if this makes no sense, I'm rather tired at the moment, lol.

CBS will roam the tankmore than fire/blood shrimp but in pico, I would go with blood. Even couple provided adequately aquascaped, LR/rocks in it.

Anemone shrmp is possbile w/o anemone but only w/o any other tankmate which may kill/eat it.

I meant to say Picotope(the name of tank).

Thanks for the reply. I also forgot to mention it will have no tankmates(besides crabs/snails). All I want to put in there is a shrimp and corals.

I have 3 lbs. of LR in there at the moment, but I do plan on adding 2 pounds more.

I think I will go by your advice and do a bloodfire :) thanks!

I'd go for 3-5 sexies (anenome shrimp) myself. A 3G will be too small IMO for the larger shrimp.

OK. 3 Gal is still Pico rather than Nano set up;)
I hope crab meaning hermits and make sure hermits are reef safe ones as not all are.

Fire would be fine in there provided other ideal conditions are provided and maintained. Since Pico, go easy with WC, that is if needed down the road.
Make sure to properly mature the tank before adding live stocks if this is your first set up.
Try avoiding net with expensive shrimp (per lbs that is, lol).

Hope all goes well so you will upgrade at least to nano soon!

No, this isn't my first set up. I have a 50G reef tank and 16G Seahorse tank. Did I mention I'm 15 years old? lol. I'm a little obsessed.:y220d:

PS: Yes, they're hermits and they're reef safe.
PS(again): What do you mean with WC? Sorry, I'm not very good with shortened words, lol.
