Not sure if this is the right section or not. Didn't see anything for inverts....

I have a 36 gallon freshwater tank currently. It has a Plec (about 10"), 3 Bronze Corys and 6 Zebra Danios. Last week I added 10 Ghost Shrimp to the tank to assist with cleanup duty. They slowly disappeared. Last I saw there were none.

My question is, what would eat those? Could my Plec have become a carnivore? I know some of them would hang out by it and it seemed to get real mad and thrashed its tail around. The Corys & Danios seem too small to eat these guys, but I suppose they could right?

I'm hesitant to buy more for this tank for obvious reasons. I really like the Ghost Shrimps and I'm reading up on the Amano shrimps now (for algae patrol). Should I waste my time with shrimps in this tank? I know Ghost shrimp are usually sold as food. I didn't think I had anything that would eat them. Are Amano shrimp OK for freshwater? Some sites say slightly brackish and some say freshwater is ok.

Thanks.... Sorry for the long winded post...

They probably died on their own, then the cories probably ate them. None of those fish should bother shrimp. Amanos are freshwater, as are red cherries and bamboo.
