Shrimp tank in planning

I thought of it much too late, but have you considered a false wall or something akin to the much larger systems? Could be a simple and cheap project with a small divider wall modded/molded to one corner. Plexiglass with loads of vents and thin sponge pads to keep livestock out, but temps steady. Could maybe even hide other equipment in there as well. Just a thought though.

That's actually a great idea, but I don't have enough free time (or prior knowhow) for that right now. You got me thinking though...I will have much more time later this year and I'm sure I'll want more shrimp tanks!

So my sponge filter has been simmering for a little over 2 weeks, going to give it some more time while I shop for shrimp and Marimo balls. I may just end up getting the Marimo balls at the LFS...they're only $5 for 1.5"-2" balls, which seems like a good price even compared to online. I'd like to buy en masse if possible though if I can save on cost. However, a lot of the Marimo ball sellers on AB look kind of shady...and the ones on eBay are even sketchier looking.

Can anyone recommend a good ball merchant?
