Shrimp with ADF?

i had adf and ghost shrimp together. They do die but its not from the adf it is just that i cant keep ghost shrimp that long only a couple months

I am currently working on making a river bed tank. Its well planted but still needs to fill out a little more. Anyways, I have 3 blue speckled platties, 4 ADFs, and had 11 cherry shrimp. I think I'm down to 6 or so now 
What I have figured is in order to achieve what I want to, I need to get a large enough group of shrimps so that even if the frogs eat on the shrimp, they won't be able to break their life cycle. I am planning on getting 50 or so shrimps and see how this goes. Keeping the frogs fed helps a bit however my guys are pigs and eat and eat and eat! LOL
I think this is possible, its just a matter of getting the right set up and having enough shrimp.
