advice would be appreciated

Sorry, but no. Siamese tigers are brackish fish, and won't survive long in FW, so won't mix with an aro.

I thought this was already discussed where the silvers tend to prefer some salinity, while the other types, i.e. widebar ,Indonesian, thinbar, New Guinea is fine with freshwater.
As for the compatibility, the aro will dine on the Dat if it's sizable larger, otherwise the Dat will fight with the aro.

Word of warning, by the way- Assuming you can get the water conditions to accomodate both fish (which is sometimes easy and sometimes difficult, depending on the salinity required), it should be a very large tank because the agression factor is of major importance. The tigers do get pretty big, and obviously the arowanas do as well, so cramped spaces might not work out well. Is it an Asian arowana, australian, or south american? I havent seen SA arowanas kept with the tigers, so I am not too sure about that.

damion - Actually thats not my tank, I have it in my archive because I like to database Arowana information (Ive had a serious interest in the aro the hobby for a number of years). I believe they are Golds, if you take a look at the fins and proportions (Is the pic resolution bad, i had to shrink it?) it should be a bit more clear. I have kept the tigers with Australian, never with asian, and never with SA's. In a 300+ gallon I havent seen much agression, but when i had juveniles together in a 100 something it was a bit rough. They are cool fish (the tigers), but I would go with the charming phoenix if I had an option. I had to give up keeping Asian Aros when I moved to the US, but I will be moving back to Sing in a while and when i do I'll be sure to post some pics.

What size tank are you planning on putting them in?

Is the Charming Phoenix the same as the Flagtail?
Heard the mixture of a "Dragon" (Aro),"Tiger" (Dat) and "Phoenix"
(Flagtail)? supposed to be something symbolic
Good luck in Singapore, wish they allowed Asian Aros here in the States.
BTW, do you know of a very large FS in NYC? Some where downtown?
