Hi! I have just recently noticed a blood like appearence on my Small Fantail Goldfish. Her tail fins look frayed and it looks like there is some blood on it as well. She is in with 3 other small fantail goldfish, 1 small black moor, 3 zebra danios, 2 longfinned yellow danios and 1 leapard danio. All the other fish are fine, and i don't think it has been attacked. There are no sharp edges on anything in the aquarium. :help:

That's most likely an environmental cause. How big is your tank? What's the temperature? Are you doing water tests? Overfeeding? How often do you do water changes?

We'll need lots more information about your water parameters to offer any useful advice.

I would suspect that there may have been some aggression earlier between the danios and the gold fish (when were they introduced to each other?), and the environmental conditions in the tank may have led to a secondary infection.

The more details you could provide about the tank environment, conditions, introductions, cycled, etc. the better off we will be to assist you.

You have cold and warm water fish together...

Test the water and get back to us, but I would suspect that you may be due for a water change. this will help considerably with the ailment until we can determine what it is.

Pictures?
