Sick Guppy

I have a sick female guppy. She's been sick for teh last 3 days. She hasn't been very active, her eyes look cloudy, looks like she's havign a hard time breathing, and also has a big blood spot on her bad. What is it and how can I cure her?

Judging from your other threads, your water quality may be poor due to overcrowding or lack of cycling in your little tank. Your guppy might be reacting to that, or the poor conditions have encouraged another disease to appear. Is it a new fish? The guppy may have come sick from the store; it happens a lot.

I got her about 1 1/2 weeks ago. What kind of meds should I give her?

Hmm. I don't know. It is tough to treat a fish that came from the store sick. For starters, keep the water clean with 50% water changes daily (make sure the temperature is the same with added water.)

As for meds, maybe someone else here can help.

Do you have another tank? It would be best to isolate the sick guppy so she does not spread her illness to your other fish.
