My platy gave birth about 3 months ago. She is currently in a 29 gallon with 4 cories, 1 other platy and 3 zebra danios. Tank conditions are currently, ammonia - 0, nitrite - 0, and nitrate - about a 6 or 7.

This platy is currently sitting at the top of the tank and hasn't been eating (I have tried different kinds of food as well). I haven't seen her swimming with the other fish either. She just sits near the top with her top fin down. I have checked her out and don't see any other physical signs of sickness. She has no spots or anything unusual on her body. Nothing has changed in the tank for about a month or so.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to help her?

Does she look pregnant again?

Nope, she doesn't look pregnant. But she stayed huge after she had the babies. I thought she was pregnant again, but she never had them and since then has thinned out a little.

Does she look like she's breathing heavily?
ANother thought -- Have you seen her poo? fish can and do get constipated.

It's hard to tell which came first I guess. I've heard that people have success treating bloating and constipation with peas, if you can get her to eat some. I find it interesting that she stayed round after her last batch of fry, but I have no idea what that might mean. I have no other ideas I'm afraid. Good luck with her!
