Does anyone know in terms of water quality, exactly to what effect silicone has on water if not fully cured before use ?

not fully seal and can leak. not going to hurt the water other then letting it get all over your floor. take the extra day or two to make sure its fully cured.
thx much i was under the impression it may release amonia or other chemicals into the tank. I re-sealed one side and filled up after 8hrs its holding but i detect ammonia. I just tested my city supply and it's up over 1.0. whats standard for municiple water ?
there is no standard. my tap is zero. i think it takes 2-3 days to fully cure. i wouldnt fill it up until then.

without letting the silicone FULLY cure (72 hours MINIMUM) you run the risk of your seal giving out on you at any time.
8 hours is really pushing it.. i wouldnt have even thought of risking it before 24 hours.
