silver doller help please

he aLL I NEED SERIOUS help with a silver doller i bought its 4-5 inch and in a 2 foot tank the problem is that it looks quite big in the tank and never hardly moves around is that normal i mean it stays in one position and hardly ever moves away from it which is worrying me becouse ive had it 2 days now and it now has a 1 and a half inch small silver doller as company which i bought today but still my large 1 doesnt hardly move around the tank and its not eating nether ive noticed

help me please thanks alot stevo
 
Well, for starters, your tank is too small...he probably feels vulnerable and cramped...you might want to take both of them back and get smaller, community fish to start with.
 
im not sure bout all the technical stuf ive had silver dollers before but not this size thats the problem i man my other fish are fine in health but my newdoller seems to be lively and fine but the other doller only seems to come out more at night and i dunno why it aint eating its the biggest fish i have i got 2 silver barbs (dead friendly) sissortail 2x swordtails 1x spiny eel not that long 2 inch probs
 
You have to get a test kit, it's not technical at all, just go buy a nitrIte and nitrAte kit. It is very important to know these. how long have you had your tank set up?

Ok, well it's probly not your water quality then so the only thing that it would be is what he already said:

yeah bought it dead cheap thats why 5 pound not bad erm would need to sell it i guess could it not live in that tank for now?? what would happen if i left it for a few weeks??
 
How big is your tank volume wise?
