I live in Vancouver,BC and I'm looking for some silver scats ASAP. The two I have are tearing each other apart as well as my monos and mollys. I've been told that it's because my school (if you can call it that) isn't big enough .

Sorry, I can't help you with where to get more. However, I am curious because I have 2 silver scats in my tank and have no problems. I however have other scats and a large school of Mono's.

What size is your tank and what kind of natural barriers do you have in place?

I have one Silver Scat and it schools with my Argentine and Sebae Monos, it will also hang with my Green Scat. The Green Scat will chase the Silver Scat around but doesn't do anything to hurt the Silver Scat. He runs into the tail fin and bumps the Silver Scat once in a while but it looks like play. The Silver will then turn and sorta do the same thing back to the Green Scat.

It looked like play at first to me, but now there are serious wounds on each of them, including one of my mono argentus. I've got a few plants and large decorations (see petsmart mangrove root dec.), some rocks. I guess I could use some more cover, but I'm short on money right now and large rocks don't come cheap. My tank is a 135g so size isn't an issue, they've got plenty of space to swim.

So do I, which is why I'm so worried. My water parameters are perfect and dead on brackish conditions. Things seem to have calmed down a bit since I added my new aqauclear to the tank.
Out of curiousity what kind of greens do you feed your scats olaf?

They eat the green algae when I scape the sides of the tank. They are so on that stuff they end up pushing my scaper aside.
I also feed them, monos, and chromides angelfish food (flakes).
I have thrown in greens before (different types of head/green lettuce) but they don't know what it is so they swim away from it and act spooked.
On the other hand a sheet of algae (freeze-dried) is attacked like a bleeding cow in a over stocked pool of Piranha.
The archer actually joins in on that feeding frenzy.(never really eating much of the sheet algae but helps tear it up.

I tried romain lettuce last night and it lasted the entire day! freeze dried sheets of marine algae only last about 10 seconds and my scats get all of it not leaving any for the monos.
I also feed my scats and mono flakes as well, formula two to be exact. When I added the lettuce they were spooked at first but they gathered the curiousity to tast it and they went from there. Just use a lettuce clip, let it sit for awhile. They'll give in eventually.
