Hi all

I have another question

I have a 50g tank which I have a few tetra and a clown loach (and my mad blue gourami ... see my earlier question!) and I had wanted to get discus but now realise from everyones reply to another question that the tank isn't big enough :irked:

Sooo I thought I would go with angel fish as I love them too. Firstly in a tank that size would several be better than one? Also could I put a couple of silver sharks in there? We used to have two in with a pair of gold sevrum and they got on fine and I am sure they aren't agressive but are they too active for angel fish?

Appreciate your thoughts

The angel fisj have a tenancy to go after tetras. What type of silver shark? If it is the Columbian sharks they get to big for you tank and will eat anything that fits in their mouth.

Small Bala sharks will be OK with Angelfish, but they grow HUGE. A 55gal is not big enough for adults, adult size is 12" or so, and because they are fast swimmers you will need a 6ft tank.

Have you considered Silver Dollars instead?

Ian

Think its a Balantiocheilos (Bala shark) I am talking about and having done a google search on those we won't be getting any as too big. We had two of them years ago (before internet when you had to rely on the shop staff knowing what they were talking about and I was told 6-8" max) They lived for about 3 years in a 30g tank but they only got 6". Hubby liked the fact that they were always on the move ... nice to watch. Will have to tell him no!!

Thanks for your thoughts
