Hi Friends !

Just wanted to request if anybody knows or has an idea on how Tubifex Cubes can be made to sink or atleast stay at the bottom for bottom feeders ?

Can I insert them with a thin metal rod like thing and plant the rod in to the substrate ? So that the cubes remain at the bottom ? Any such ideas ?

Kindly advice...
Thanks and Regards
Kush

I think it will be pretty hard to do. As soon as the water starts to soak into the cube it would probably release and float up anyway. Get some sinking wafers for the bottom feeders.

You could try pre-soaking it in a little tank water to see if that helps, then shooting it in the tank with a turkey baster/syringe.

plant weights

I use plant weights. Wrap them real tight. Eventually as the fish tear it up it will float.

I smoosh them against the glass with my finger. It forces the air out and they stick pretty well. The fish then come by and get a snack like a drive through (until the yoyos get there, then all hell breaks loose).

That is EXACTLY what I do. When my male ram comes by he usually pulls it right off though, but everyone gets some at least:grinyes:
