Hi, I'm new to plecos and I recently got a Gold Nugget Pleco for free from a friend who quit this hobby for school. I poke the zucchinni with a metal fork and throw it in the tank but my mom said the fork will eventually rust and make the water chemistry poisonious. How do you pros sink zucchinni or other veggys to your pleco?
Thanks for the help.

I've seen people use the fork method...

I zip tie veggies to a washer and let it sink. I've also seen others use wooden shishkebab skewers.

I fed my plecos "canned brean beans". I buy the very small cans of "Del Monte" green beans (I choose the no-salt ones).

Pop open can, drain water out and drop in one or two a night or so. Vac out the left overs next morning.

Hey, how long can I leave the veggys inside the tank with the pleco before the food rots or changes the water?

Sticking veggies to the end of a stainless steel spoon is safe I've heard. I think thats better than a fork because they could hurt themselves on a fork.

Does anyone peel their zucchinni before tossing it in the tank? My pleco seems to eat the good stuff and leave the scraps perfectly intact. heres a picture of the rascal. :) And the "leftovers".

Most of my fish eat the white part but a couple plecs will eat the green sometimes. I'm not sure since it happens at night. I use plant weights, veggie clips, skewer. I use a long piece of dental floss (nowax or flavor) tied to the clips or weights so it's easy to remove.
