Ok i would like your opinion on this skimmers for my 55 gallon Reef tank Reef Octopus BH 100F
Hang on Back Protein
Skimmer with Filter System Or The Remora C Hob Skimmer With the Maxi-jey 1200:help2:

I'd go with the reef octopus myself. I have one and I'm happy with it.

They're made tough, easy to adjust, easy to set-up and they do a decent job. A great feature is that you can see everything that is going on inside the skimmer. Because they are made from standard plumbing parts everything can be replaced, modified etc.

If you're buying new, I would not buy the AquaC Remora. At a good used price, it's not a bad choice at all, but I wouldn't pay the new price for one. I have one and it certainly works for me, but I wouldn't pay to buy one new. I've not used the Reef Octopus, so I can't really say if it's a better choice.

I have a remora, bought it originally for my 29G and it is running on my 75G now. I paid the new price for it a couple years ago. It is a great skimmer for a 29G but I really wouldn't recommend it on a tank much larger. It is woefully underpowered on my 75G. I agree with fsn77 that it isn't worth the price now for a new one. A used one goes between $60-$75 normally and that is a good price for it IMO. There are better options available today for the price of a new Remora, like the Reef Octopus and I bet the CPR AeroForce skimmer.
