I added a Lawnmower Blenny to my 55gal about 5-6 weeks ago. I can't say that he has gotten any smaller than when I bought him cause I see him everyday. However, compared to the LBs I see at the LFS, mine seems very skinny. The ones at the store mostly look fat. Otherwise looks healthy. He nibbles at the rock and tank peices daily and is very alert. I have no algea "problem" or noticeable algea on glass. I tried supplementing with dried algea pellets that I had from a freshwater tank. He didn't seem to take to it but hard to tell. He actively goes after frozen mysis but seems to spit it all back out. Thoughts?

I don't keep saltwater fish, but have you tried some strips of seaweed on a clip?

Try Nori from the supermarket (way cheaper than the crap from the LFS).

I use nori soaked in vitamins, my algae blenny seemed to like that before he got eaten by my giant mythrax crab :(

mine loves brine shrimp live, and flakes nice tiny pea size pieces,.. i feed veggiflakes,.. from ocean nutrition,. he goes after them like a dog and frizbees,..lol do you have any real agea for him,.. ie hair or film,.. they haveto have it also seaweed strips on a clip put where he hangs out or wrap them around a rock and see if he goes to it,.. keep and eye out so it dosen't fowl the tank,..

before my lawnblenny was killed, no algae in the tank, even when supplemented, caused her to get thin. i ended up shutting a protein skimer off and let some algae to take hold and get her to gain weight that way.
