Since I will be diving more into my aquatic adventure I’ve decided to start tracking it. My first fishtank was setup at the beginning of the summer.

My current tank is a cycled 5 gallon all in one from marineland. I originally had 2 female guppies where one had 14 fry but they got a bad case of camalanus worms and now I only have 9 of the fry that are worm free and doing great. They’re still small and their color is just developing. I think I have 2 males and 7 females.

The Tank:

Crappy Picture of 8 of the guppies. The little boogers wouldn't hold still.

Someone from work gave my mom a 10 gallon tank and since I have almost everything to set it up, I shall. I plan on placing some of the gravel from the cycled 5g in it as well as a guppy or two until the tank is cycled. I want to decorate it in a river theme with rocks, wood, a clay pot, and gravel. I want to put 2 Dwarf Gouramis, 6 Cardinal Tetras, and some snails and ghost shrimp in it once its cycled.

As for the 5g, I hate the look of it right now so once I get the 10g going I’m going to redo it with sand and some fake coral and rocks to make it look like the saltwater I will one day have when I can afford it.

I would only suggest one dwarf gourami. Unless it's a male and female. The males can be aggressive towards each other, especially in a 10 gallon.

I think I have that same tank! 5g eclipse right?

Yup, a 5g eclipse! I like the tank but I've discovered I don't like bowfront so that's the only downside of it.

Nice tank.

IMO, I wouldnt add any more fish. but thats just me. Plus dwarf gourami can be super nasty to male guppies. I had mine chase all the males almost to death
