Sleeper Goby

I just traded my niger trigger and got a sixspot slepper goby.

Is there anything in specific I need to know about these guys besides moving some sand around under the rocks?

The sleeper gobies are a bit on the difficult side. They mostly eat the infauna found in sand and may starve if they don't have a sufficient supply of them. Relatively young tanks (Less than a year or so) and smaller tanks (i.e. under 75-100 gallons) will be very ill-equipped to care for these fishes. If you can get them to eat prepared foods (many will eventually), all the better. Make sure the fish's stomach stays rounded during the first several weeks/months, too.

All great advice.. one more piece, make sure to jump proof the top of your tank. They are extremely jumpy fish.

I haven't had the best of luck with any type of goby, so for now I won't take the plunge.

Good luck though! It would be awesome if it does indeed eat prepared foods
