what are some small plecos? small meaning under 5". I would like one but not one that gets huge. So far i've found clown plecos and bristlenoses. i would like to get the clown pleco but can't get to the store until next friday so hopefully they won't get sold before then... anyway, list some off for me please!!!

There aren't many plecos that stay under 5", I think only the 3 that have been mentioned. Clowns definitely need driftwood to rasp on, and they don't come out much during the day. If you decide on bristles, I have some nice babies posted in the for sale section.

I keep bristlenoses and clowns in my 5 tanks.

Bristlenoses are uglier but seem to do a better job cleaning. They get bigger than clowns. I've got a 4-inch one right now in my 55g.

Most clowns will hide all day. They seem to be hit-or-miss with respect to cleaning. I've had good ones, and ones that don't do anything.

I've seen several varieties of "albino" bristlenoses, and have owned several over the years. To my eye, they are more attractive, but seem to clean as well as the brown ones. They also tend to be more expensive.
