I've been thinking of experimenting with making some rock to supplement my existing LR in a 29 GAL. I've read the threads on using Portland cement and rock salt and sand molds. All seems doable, yet I want to do this on a small scale (am an apartment dweller) so 90# bags of cement seems a bit much to make 25-30# of rock. Are there sources for smaller amounts of cement or alternatives (e.g., from hobby shops) of which I am not aware? Thanks.

If your in the St.Louis area, I'd give ya some...

I've done it (and am doing it right now.).

It works great, but takes a LONG time to properly cure. That is the hardest part; the wait...

Smaller pieces should be useable much quicker, I would think. My pieces average 1 to 5 pounds a piece.

It is a real pain, and a mess to boot, but if your on a budgrt, there isnt a much better alternative thats cheap...
