Well...

I have a 29 G with about a 5 inch JD, and I'm about to give him to a good local pet store, I was originally going to get him a larger tank when he got bigger...but I'm going to be going to college and its just not practical.

However, I do have a father who wants me to keep some fish (he likes 'em too) that he will take care of while I'm away. I was wondering if there was a small easy care fish...something that won't have him vacuuming the bottom of the tank every 5 days like I am currently with my Jack? Just suggestions please :)

A harem of any of the dwarf cichlids would fit the bill I think - Apistogramma, Nannacara etc. Can then add some dithers - tetra's, hatchetfish for example. Don't add Corydoras as dwarf cichlids have a tendency to peck their eyes out!

I forgot to mention... I do have a pair of pictus cats that will be staying. Dempsey never paid them any bother, then again, I did get them at the same time while the JD was just a little baby.

The deed is done, I decided to go the safe route and just skip on the cichlids...

The 29 now looks like:
2 swordtails
1 platy
1 african clawed frog
2 pictus cats

How big are the Pictus? I know my Pictus are about 5 inches each and would love to eat a small frog! :)
