What would be the smallest schooling fish you would put with angels. Mine are: 1 silver dollar size, 1 half dollar size (both about a year old and started out a little bigger than quarter size!) Several months ago I put in 4 small ottos and the big one spent alot of time stalking them but never ate any. That lasted about a month and he is no longer interested and I guess they have probably grown. I also had 2 neons which he never bothered but have moved them to a 10 gallon. I'm guessing black neon would also look tasty to an angel!

I have a 37 Gallon and besides the angels there are 2 fire red rosey barbs, 1 gold ram, 3 clown loaches >2 in. and moving before I add anything, 4 julie cory cats, 4 ottos (I can't believe they all survived!).

My ph is around 7 and my water hard. Have had real bad luck with neons and rams, even taking an hour to aclimate them.

Thanks!

It depends on your angels and how well fed they are. Mine has been with danios and neons, but never once even looked at them like food. *shrugs*

Then again, she was only about the size of a quarter when I got her . . . and I housed her with them then.

Never had a problem with my angels.

I have two half dollar size angels. They co-exist with 8 glow light tetras. I have never even seen them go after them.
